After an incredibly exiting time before the first part event 2006, the parts for the totally rebuild car did not arrive in time, so Thomas Rådström had to start in the first part event of the SM season in Rally cross in a borrowed car. It was Ingemar Björn that owns “the other” rally cross Hyundai Accent WRC that had to give up his participation in the competition in Arvika for the benefit of Thomas.
The competition in Arvika was an incredibly exiting first part event in SM with all the drivers in place, Kenneth Hansen in his new Citroen C4, Per Eklund and Ola Stenvall in their SAAB 9-3, Lasse Larsson in his sharp Skoda and others.
Thanks to a for the day unusually tactical Thomas Rådström he managed in his tactic to not challenge all the drivers in the qualifying race but to guard the second places with dash which resulted in a nice third place in the totally decisive A-finals.
Shortly after start the heaven opened up and the rain pored down when Thomas made the DECISION which was the absolute victory-weapon for the day, he ordered to use his tires that is not normally used in rally cross but that, thanks to the shower of rain, became the key to victory.
Thomas thanks everyone at Hyundai Bilar AB and all Hyundai-salesmen for being entrusted with the continuing drive during 2006 and is thrilled to be able to deliver the first Hyundai-victory in the first SM-part competition 2006.
